A new member of the family

The cute little puppy pictured above is our new foster dog, Saturn, that will be joining us tomorrow until she goes to her forever home.

Saturn is one of four dogs from K9 Kindness Rescue that desperately needed a place to go by this weekend, so my husband and I decided to take her in. Saturn is about four months old and she's a lab/pit bull terrier mix.

Her two litter mates, Milo and Toby, also need a place to go on a temporary or permanent basis. The dogs' previous foster family is unable to keep them because they have family moving in with them this weekend.

The fourth dog that needs a home, either temporary or permanent, is Lillie, a 2-year-old tree walking coon hound. She was taken to a shelter when she was very young and was never properly socialized with other dogs. As a result, she is hard to place because she needs to go to a home where she is either the only dog, or is with a submissive male. She has been through obedience training, is house trained and is good with children.

For more information about fostering or adopting any of these dogs, go to www.k9kindnessrescue.org, or e-mail k9kindness@mchsi.com.
